HHS Cheerleaders Advance to Nationals in Walt Disney World

The Hillsborough High School varsity competition cheer squad competed at the UCA Pocono Regional Competition at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania on Sunday, December 9, 2012.  After a long bus ride on a gloomy day the end results were well worth it as the team placed 3rd out of 8 teams to earn them a bid to the 2013 National High School Cheerleading Championship (NHSCC).   The NHSCC is the most prestigious cheerleading championship in the country.  The NHSCC is held at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Florida, and nationally televised on ESPN and ESPN2 to over 100 million homes and 32 countries nationwide each year.

The squad has been working together since August for this particular honor and will now continue to work through the winter in preparation for the NHSCC as well as cheer for the HHS Varsity Boys and Girls home basketball games and wrestling matches.  The squad will also compete in the upcoming Skylands Conference Championship on Tuesday, December 11 at Ridge High School starting at 5 pm as well as compete on Sunday, December 16 in Easton PA.
