Join BoroGreen at Lima Family Farms on Friday

Local group focused on sustainable living hosting potluck dinner at farm.

When members of BoroGreen, the local group working on projects aimed at reducing Hillsborough's carbon footprint, met in January to lay out plans for the new year, one of the member's top priorities was to learn more about the community and what sustainable actions residents have already taken.

As a result, the group hosted a meeting at its community garden at Duke Farms where organic gardening was discussed. They also visited a local beekeeper in July to learn about the joy and concerns of beekeeping.

Now, they're inviting the community to join BoroGreen's August meeting at Lima Family Farms.

The meeting will include a potluck dinner at 6 p.m., with burgers will be provided by the farm, followed by the environmentally friendly farm.

If you want to attend and bring a side dish to share, RSVP to board@borogreen.org by Thursday to confirm your participation and help plan. Bring drinks, plates and utensils for yourself.

Lima Farms specializes in natural produce and livestock meats, and seeks to help develop a strong local agriculture community. The chickens, cattle and pork raised and processed by Lima Farms is free of hormones and produce grown is free of pesticides.

BoroGreen is a nonprofit 501c3 grassroots group whose mission is to build a sustainable community.
