Happy National Visit A Park Day!

Today is National Visit A Park Day! While national parks are closed, local and county parks are open and waiting for you!  Visit a Park Day is very simple to celebrate.  Head out to a park with your friends and family.  Enjoy the park's resources.  While there, be sure to take a picture and post it to the Parks & Recreation Facebook or Twitter pages.  Be sure to use the hashtag #VisitaParkDay.

Looking for ideas on what to do?  We've got some ideas for you:

  • Enjoy a picnic at the Ann Van Middlesworth or Docherty Park picnic pavilions.
  • Play a pick-up softball, basketball, or soccer game.
  • Go for a walk or bike ride on any of the walking trails.
  • Take a hike and enjoy the beautiful views and fall foliage at the county's Sourland Mountain Preserve.
  • Borrow a bike from Duke Farms and check out the estate.
  • Be a kid and play on a playground.
  • Grab a racket and play some tennis.
A full parks directory is available on the Parks and Recreation website.  Don't forget to take pictures and share them with us on Facebook and Twitter!
