Special Event: 'GoodSpellers' Spelling Bee! - Adults and Children ages 10-200! – April 17 at 6 p.m.

The Hillsborough Library is sponsoring a Spelling Bee for everyone from ages 10 to 200! Come join us for casual spelling fun and cool prizes, donated by the Friends of the Library! We will ask you when you arrive for the Spelling Bee which group level you want to participate in: Brainiac, Genius or Master of the Universe! Spectators welcome!!

Sign up for our mixed gender ESL Conversation Group in the Hillsborough Library Conference Room. Ages 18 and older. Must know basic English.

Join us for this classic movie starring Robert Duvall and Michael Caine.

What Indians Lived in Your Backyard? The Indigenous People of Hillsborough, N.J – April 16 at 7 p.m.

Did you know that there were Native American Indians living in Hillsborough, N.J. and throughout the surrounding region, five hundred to thousands of years ago? Come take a journey back in time with archaeologist and archaeological field assistant, Jim Wade, as he uncovers the hidden presence of the Indians who once hunted, fished and gathered wild plants throughout the Hillsborough region and maybe right in your own backyard!

Book Discussion: “Simplicity Parenting” – April 17 at 7 p.m.

Join us for our newly formed Parenting Book Discussion group held bi-monthly through 2014!  Are you seeking to simplify your child's life by connecting to concrete experiences that create cherished memories?  'Simplicity Parenting' by Kim John Payne is a small book with a big message covering the why's and how's of simplifying family life to create a friendly environment.

 

Youth Services Programs from April 14 through April 19:

Tail Waggin’ Tutors – Grades K-4 – April 14 at 4 p.m.

This is Therapy Dog International's Program: Children Reading to Dogs! Spend time reading to Xena, a TDI certified dog! Each registered child will get 10 special minutes practicing reading skills while Xena listens.

Teen Movie Night: “The Mortal Instruments – City of Bones”  – Grades 7-12 – April 14 at 6 p.m.

Bring your friends to teen movie night and watch The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones on the big screen! Snacks will be provided. Movie is rated PG-13 and is 130 minutes long.

Early Reader Book Club – Grades K-2 – April 15 at 4 p.m.

An exciting program for brand-new readers! At each program we will discuss the book, do some activities and make a craft. Please be sure to read the book before the program. Copies will be available at the Children's Desk. This program: “Cork & Fuzz: Short & Tall” by Dori Chaconas.

Preschool Book Club – For Parents and Children Ages 3-5 – April 16 at 10 a.m.

Join us as we read books by Peter Brown and share book-related activities.

Neshanic Garden Club: Spring Wreath – Grades 2-4 – April 16 at 4 p.m.

Join the members of the Neshanic Garden Club and make something fun!

Craft Time: Earth Day! – Ages 4-6 – April 17 at 10 a.m.

Have fun making a craft with your preschool or kindergarten child!
