Competitive Weekend for Hillsborough Jr. Raiders Wrestling

Hillsborough Jr. Wrestling had a strong weekend. The Raritan Valley team won against Franklin to move to 3-2. The Central Jersey team lost a hard fought battle to a strong Westfield team.

The Hillsborough Central Jersey wrestlers fell short against the Westfield Blue Devils by a score of 53 - 39.

Evan Karolewski opened up the match with a pin in the 50 pound weight class. Cole Psmenecki won by forfeit at 57 pounds, and at 77 pound weight class Kevin Quabeck came out of the gate fast wearing down his Westfield opponent and eventually winning by fall.

Cameron Hill continues to wrestle hard and he decked his opponent in the 80 pound weight class which got Hillsborough back in the match trailing 32 to 24. Dan Chesner won a close decision in the 87 pound weight class against a very tough opponent.

At 95 pounds Brian Musumeci won by a forfeit which again got Hillsborough within 8 by a score of 41 to 33. Heavy weight Emilio Guerrero recorded his fourth straight pin of the year with a fall at heavyweight to close out the match with Westfield.

On Saturday the 12th the Hillsborough Raritan Valley team moved to 3-2 with a win against Franklin. Led by pins from Tyler Oram, Danny Guerrero, Matt Ciattarelli, Nick Klementowicz and Connor Nehila the Raiders won by a score of 69-25.

Also winning matches on the day were Jason Roser, Peter Quandt, and Michael Lalor. The Raiders are scheduled to be in action next weekend against Flemington and Ridge in a Tri-Meet.
