Former Player Alex Duncan Gives Back to the Jr. Raiders

Alex Duncan, a former player of the Hillsborough Jr. Raiders, donates two picnic tables to the Triangle Road Football Complex as his Eagle Scout project.

On Saturday, October 20th, the Jr. Raiders had a dedication ceremony to honor the donation of former Jr. Raider Alex Duncan.  For his Eagle Scout project, Alex built the two picnic tables that are located next to the concession stand of the Triangle Road Football Complex and donated them to the Jr. Raiders.

Alex has been a member of Boy Scout Troop 489 since age 11.  Alex starting playing for the Jr. Raiders in the flag program at the age of seven. He ended his Jr. Raider career as a member of the 2008 team that won the Jr. Skyland Football Conference Championship and then proceeded to win the first ever NJ Unlimited Weight Youth Football Association State Championship.  Alex has been the starting center for the Hillsborough High School football team for last two years.

Alex has also excelled in the classroom where he is a member of the National Honor Society, National Latin Honor Society and on the Honor Roll.

The Jr. Raiders meant so much to Alex that he wanted to give something back.  He was a volunteer coach throughout his freshman and sophomore years in HS.  During his years as a Jr. Raider, he noticed a need for picnic tables so that people could sit and enjoy a snack while watching football games.  So he decided that the two picnic tables would fill that need.

The dedication ceremony was held prior to start of the Division I games at 2:45pm.  The Jr. Raiders thank Alex for his generous contribution to the organization and to the Hillsborough community.
