FABRICLAND'S ANNUAL FALL CRAFT FAIR

Fabricland, the state’s largest fabric store and sewing school, will hold its first annual Craft Fair on Saturday, November 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 855 Route 22 in North Plainfield. It is free and open to the public. More than 40 local crafters and artisans from the surrounding towns will sell their goods throughout the day – both indoors and outside under a tent.  These include hand-painted holiday ornaments, dollhouse miniatures, handcrafted handbags, decorative throws, quilts, pillows, towels and wall hangings, handcrafted fashions and accessories, hand knit and crochet hats and scarves, hair goods, jewelry,  baby and children’s clothing, soaps, skincare
products and lots more.

Artists Richard Aldorasi and Betsy Fox Lamb, the innovative
creators behind Ebru Richsilk Scarf Designs, will provide a “Live Art
Experience” during the Fair by facilitating attendees to create their own
one-of-a-kind silk scarf.    “Ebru” is a classic marbling technique of
taking a print from ink floating on water and transferring it directly onto
silk. The artists will set up their “Marbling Station” inside Fabricland from 10
am to 6 pm where guests can select liquid paint colors and manipulate them to create their own wearable art. The scarves will be available for the retail
price of $40 each.

Bruce and Margaret Heyman, owners of Fabricland, were inspired
to develop this Fair after visiting several large craft shows this past
summer.  “Even though we sell gifts in our store now, we feel it’s important to sell locally crafted  gifts, rather than items that are generally
sourced from overseas,” cites Heyman. “We also want to support our loyal customers who have small businesses – so we look forward to sharing their passions at our Fair on November 23rd!” For more information about this Craft Fair, visit www.fabricland.com or call 908-755-4700.
