Woodfern Elementary Parties Like it's 1962

Past and present teachers and students celebrate Woodfern Elementary's 50th birthday.

There was plenty of fun to be had on a great fall day as Hillsborough Public Schools and the township community celebrated the 50th anniversary of Woodfern Elementary School.

Former and current teachers, students and others associated with the school joined in a party celebrating the golden anniversary. First opened in 1962, Woodern like the rest of Hillsborough, has grown but still retains its rural setting.

The event featured tours of the facility and a carnival. Also as part of the celebration, the current students created a time capsule which will be opened in 2025 when this year's kindergarten class graduates high school.
