School Board, Township Committee Meet This Week

Meetings close out month.

A pair of township meetings will wrap up township business this month, with the board of education meeting Monday and Hillsborough Township Committee meeting Tuesday.

The board of education will be continuing its examination of the budget for the 2013-2014 school year under development. The budget will be wrapped up in the next week and a half, after the state aid figures are announced Thursday, and approved at another board of ed meeting scheduled for March 4.

But that's not the only matter on the agenda: the board regularly approves school trips and this week's agenda is no exception. But what is exceptional are the trips that will be approved, which include the state wrestling championships, the state swimming championships and the robotics championship in St. Louis, scheduled for April 22 through April 28.

On Tuesday, the Township Committee will continue the public hearing on the proposed ordinance to create a new special prosecutor position to handle DWI cases (the public hearing wasn't advertised in time to meet legal requirements for the Feb. 12 meeting).
