Power Restored to Most by Friday, PSE&G Says

Company said majority of its remaining outages, more than 2,000 in Hillsborough, should be restored before then.

PSE&G, the utility company that supplies electricity to the vast majority of Hillsborough, is saying that it expects to restore virtually all of its customers by Friday.

According to information submitted to the governor's office and posted on its website, the company said on Tuesday that the majority of its customers will be restored before Friday. However, the day-by-day breakdown showed it expected some Hillsborough customers to remain without power past that day.

The company supplies power to 15,618 customers in the township, according to its records. Of those, 2,361 remained without power entering Tuesday, it said. That number represents 15 percent of the township's customers.

According to the company's restoration plan, 1,965 of those customers should be restored by the end of Friday. An additional 278 customers are scheduled to go back on line Saturday. If the company hits its expectations, that would leave 118 PSE&G customers without power by Sunday.

The company's restoration plan for Hillsborough looked like this on Tuesday:

Day Customers Expected to be Restored Tuesday 308 Wednesday 331 Thursday 402 Friday 924 Saturday 278

JCP&L, the company that serves a much smaller portion of the township, was reporting to the governor's office on Monday that 49 of its 1,060 customers were still without power in Hillsborough. It was estimating that none of those customers would be restored on Tuesday, eight would be on Wednesday, six on Thursday, three on Friday, and two on Saturday. That would leave 30 without power heading into Sunday.

All told, if both companies hit their expectations, 148 customers would be without power by Sunday.

That, of course, does not take into account any power outages that are caused by the nor'easter expected to hit the area Wednesday into Thursday.

A big thank you to PSEG for getting the power back in our neighborhood on Friday, 11/2. With so many power lines/poles down in my area wasn't sure how long the wait would be. Thanks for your hard work and efforts!!

I also live in the River Road/Orchard Drive area. We are on day 12...no heat and no running water. Completely out of water for my toilets by day 9. Have not seen a truck on my street!
