Planning Board Meeting and a Valentine's Dance This Week

Also, a fundraising eveningwear sale to benefit Project Graduation.

The Planning Board has a meeting scheduled for Thursday evening, but if recent history is any guide, there's not a lot in the hopper for the board to deal with.

In fact, the board has canceled the last two meetings and hasn't met since the Jan. 3 reorganization meeting, due to blank agendas.

One item the board may have for this week's meeting is to memorialize a zoning change approved at last week's Township Committee meeting, changing the zoning on several lots along the west side of Route 206 at the Montgomery Township border from agriculture to highway service.

The committee OK'd the change at the Feb. 12 meeting after Township Planner Robert Ringelheim noted there hasn't been any agriculture-related work on the lots for a very long time. The committee also approved several small changes to the proposed rezoning by removing three lots which are connected to properties in Montgomery and extend across the township borders—those lots will remain in the AG zone.

Friday, Hillsborough Middle School students get to dance the night away, when the Valentine Dance rescheduled from Feb. 8 is held. The snowstorm that hit the region that night forced the chance of plans.

And on Saturday, Project Graduation will host a prom and evening wear dress sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the high school commons. In addition to helping benefit Project Graduation, the sale offers a great chance to check out new styles without paying department store prices.
