Library Offers Hardcover Book Sale Through March

Seasons programs include music by Seasons and maximizing vegetables.

Did you know that the Friends of the Hillsborough Library have daily book sales?? DVDs, CDs and hardcover books are only $1, paperbacks, records, children’s books and magazines are only 25 cents! VHS tapes are FREE! March Madness Sale: All hardcover books on sale – buy 1 get 1 free! Stop by the Hillsborough Library and see what you can find. 

Teen Tech Week Kickoff: PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST! - Grades 6-12 
Celebrate Teen Tech Week this March by participating in our teen photography contest! Demonstrate your tech savvy by submitting 1 photo that has been manipulated using any photo editing app. Photos will be displayed in the library and voted upon by our patrons. Prizes will be awarded! The contest runs Friday, March 1 through Thursday, March 28. Visit the Teen Center at the Hillsborough Library for more details, or stop by or call the Children's Desk. 

Summer Volunteer Program Sign-Ups Begin! 
Looking for a way to earn some community service hours this summer? Love the library? Then be on the lookout for some of our exciting volunteer opportunities available for students entering Grades 8-12 in Fall 2013! Applications and information will be available in the Teen Center starting March 1! Applications will be due no later than Saturday, April 27!

Adult Services Programs from March 11 through March 23:

ESL Conversation Group – March 11 and March 18 at 7 p.m. 
Sign up for our mixed gender ESL Conversation Group sponsored by Somerset County Literacy Volunteers. 
The program runs through May 20, 2013. Must know basic English. 
Friends of the Library Book Discussion – March12 at 7:30 p.m. 
The featured book of this discussion is Calico Joe by John Grisham. 
Afternoon Movie: Flight – March 13 at 1:30 p.m. 
Starring Denzel Washington, John Goodman & Don Cheadle. Rated R 
Music in the West Wing: Seasons – March 13 at 7 p.m. 
Join us in the West Wing as Seasons returns with an exciting fusion of Celtic, folk, original and 'a bit of the blarney' resulting in a sound that is truly unique. Refreshments will be served! 
Gardening – March 23 at 2 p.m. 
'Maximizing Your Vegetable Harvest' will show you how to double or even triple crop production -- a program presented by the Rutgers University Extension Service. 

Youth Services Programs from March 18 through March 23:

Monday Morning Moms – For Parents/Caregivers – March 18 at 10 a.m. 
This program will have different topics of discussion along with recommended resources. 
Stories for 4’s, 5’s & 6’s: Good Luck! – March 18 at 1 p.m. 
A fun family storytime! No registration required. 
Toddler Time for 2’s and 3’s: Zoo – March 19 at 10 a.m. 
Introduce the pleasure of books to your child! Join us for stories, songs & more. 
Rhyme Time for ages newborn to 24 months – March 19 at 10:30 a.m. 
Build brainpower! Join us for 20 minutes of nursery rhyme fun! 
Learning Adventures: Craft Month! – March 19 at 4 p.m. for Grades K-2, and March 21 at 10 a.m. for ages 3-6 
Celebrate National Craft Month! Join us as we get crafty. 
Special Storytime: Happy Spring! – Ages 2-6 - March 20 at 10 a.m. 
Join us for a special storytime! 
Neshanic Garden Club: Spring Planter – Grades 2-5 – March 20 at 4 p.m. 
Join the members of the Neshanic Garden Club and create something fun! 
Anime Club – Grades 8-12 – March 21 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. 
Hang out with your friends as we watch anime, discuss the latest manga and more! 
Movin’ Munchkins – Ages 3-6 – March 22 at 10 a.m. 
Join us for a creative movement program for the child and parent/caregiver! **Please note: An SCLS Release/Waiver must be filled out and signed by the parent or the child cannot participate in this program. Forms are available at the Children's Desk. 
Story and Songs – Ages 2-6 – March 23 at 10 a.m. 
Join us for an interactive story and some musical activities! 
Lego Buddies – Entering Grades 8-12 – March 23 at 2:45 p.m. 
We are looking for reliable teen volunteers entering Grades 8-12 to provide assistance during our Lego Club programs. You must register for each individual session. Volunteers will earn community service hours for their attendance. Space is limited to 4 volunteers per session! 
Lego Club – Entering Grades 1-5 – March 23 at 3 p.m. 
If you are into Legos, stop by and hang out with some other Lego-maniacs! Have fun building together.
