Halloween Trick-or-Treat Scheduled for Nov. 16
Township says change will allow for power restoration and coincide with school district's activities.
Hurricane Sandy, a post-tropical cyclone by the time it hit Hillsborough, has caused trick-or-treating to be pushed back more than two weeks from Halloween.
The township announced on Saturday that trick-or-treating will take place on Nov. 16. The statement said that the change will allow for the continued clean up and restoration efforts to ensure our children's safety.
The township also said it will align trick-or-treating with the district's school festivities.

The township originally pushed back trick-or-treating to Monday per Gov. Chris Christie's executive order issued on Wednesday. But statement from the township on Friday said that Halloween activities continued to be postponed due to ongoing safety concerns related to power outages, downed trees, and downed wires in neighborhoods.
Saturday the township decided on the make-up date.

Sandy at one point had caused 60 road closures and has left more than half of the township without power.
