Chabad Community Celebrates Hanukkah

Annual Menorah lighting held under damp skies.

It took a little while for Rabbi Shmaya Krinsky to light the damp wicks on the candles during Sunday's annual township Menorah lighting at the municipal complex, but the falling rain didn't diminish the enthusiasm of the event's participants.

About 50 people braved the weather to join Rabbi Krinsky in the ceremony, joining him in a blessing and a few traditional songs after the candels were lit.

Everyone moved inside the municipal building, where the Chabad Center for Jewish Life sponsored a "Mad Science Chanukah" program, with activities for the kids and food for all.
