BRIDGEWATER, NJ – The Somerset County Business Partnership Technology Special Interest Group (Tech-SIG) will offer an informative session for the non IT professional, “Backup & Recovery for the Common Business Person” on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. in the conference room at the Somerset County Business Partnership, 360 Grove Street at Route 22 east, Bridgewater, New Jersey.

Business people with limited information technology experience but who rely heavily on computer systems to run their businesses are invited to an informative session on backup and recovery planning.

 

Superstorm Sandy was proof that without adequate precautions, business interruptions are inevitable. This session, offered by IT professionals, will provide valuable information on how computer systems should be made ready for a similar disaster so that business interruptions may be minimized.

 

The workshop is free to Somerset County Business Partnership members and $30 for non-members. Registration is available by calling the Business Partnership at 908-218-4300 or online http://web.scbp.org/events/eventdetail.aspx?EventID=14757.

 

 “Backup & Recovery for the Common Business Person” is being presented by Tech-SIG whose role is to educate Business Partnership members and others on where technology is going and how it can impact business by sharing best practices and offering educational workshops.

 

Tech-SIG is dedicated to the education of the business community on the direction of technology and how it can impact business, increase efficiency and profitability. Among the issues addressed are the marketing value of social media; is Return On Investment the correct metric for evaluating effectiveness of social media; cyber security; disaster preparedness; business continuity; and operating system updates.
