I live Harlingen. I have seen all the doctors, they are wonderful, caring and thorough. The nurses and all the staff are so friendly to my pet and my family. The waiting area is large, you never feel cramped or on top of another pet.

When I walk in, the nurses come running around the counter to greet me. I am given VIP treatment by the entire staff. Couldn't be happier with Belle Mead.

Belle Mead has my vote! The staff and doctors at Belle Mead Animal Hospital are knowledgeable, compassionate and caring. They go above and beyond to provide quality care and support to patients AND clients. I will always bring my pets there!

I can't say enough about HVC, the Doctors, the tech and receptionist are wonderful. They are very compassionate and caring. I admire the work they do with rescue groups.

Harlingen rules-absolutely the best vet and staff. Super clean and cozy clinic. Drs Newman and Zydiak--none better.
Mary Ann August 15, 2012 at 12:46 AM
Harlingen is the one! Best doctors, staff, care. YOU KNOW THEY LOVE YOUR PETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mary courtier August 15, 2012 at 12:53 AM
We love Hopwell Vets. They have always been very caring and good at diagnosing. Very up front about the care needed and the cost has always been very reasonable. Never gave us false hope or milked us for the money.
Ellen August 15, 2012 at 01:47 AM
Harlingen is number one for kind, caring doctors and personalized service. You can look elsewhere, but you will not find better!
Felicia August 15, 2012 at 06:15 PM
Belle Mead Animal Hospital has a very caring and supportive staff. I like that the doctor's give you options on the level of care and diagnostics for your pet and you can decide what is best for you and your pet. They have a high level of testing compared to other vets in the area and their is never any judgement if you don't want to do any of the things they suggest. I will always bring my pets to Belle Mead Animal Hospital.

Belle Mead Animal Hospital is the best. Whenever I call they can always get me in, and they are even available to speak to on the phone after hours or will meet you at the hospital if you have an emergency.
Deb August 15, 2012 at 06:25 PM
I have never had a bad experience at Belle Mead Animal Hospital, the staff is very friendly and caring. They are very accomodating and have a wide range of hours available. I have even schedule a house call, which I don't think anyone else in the area does.
Laura Madsen August 16, 2012 at 12:01 PM
Belle Mead Animal Hospital has very friendly staff and when something falls out of their range of expertise they are quick to refer pet patients to other emergency facilities. I highly recommend them.

I used Red Bank when it was Hillsborough. My dog was misdiagnosed for 9 months as he had hip dysplasa(sp?). It wasn't until he couldn't control himself in the house that they probed further. I had to put him down 7 months later due to a tumor the size of a softball pertruding in his groin. I now have two dogs and they both go to Belle Mead. They may be expensive, but I wouldn't put their lives in anyone elses hands. My pets are my children and losing my 9 year dog was devastating to me and my family.

WOW Dr. Martins is definitely NOT heartless. I live 25 minutes away from Belle Mead. My beagle was sick, having occasional seizures and issues with her liver. Our vets couldn't figure out what was going on. I brought her to see Dr. Martins specifically. He sat down with us and we went through all of her medical records and came up with a treatment plan. Worked with me to find food that was holistic (by my choice) and within my budget but still met her needs. He also DID NOT push anything on me. He explained what he thought was best and we went from there. ALL VETERINARIANS SHOULD EXPLAIN ALL OPTIONS like Dr. Martins does. Who would want a veterinarian that doesn't give you the absolute option for your pet? You can choose not to take it but you should at least be aware of all the things you can do. He was a great Dr. My beagle has not had a seizure in two years and is healthy and happy.

I've used Belle Mead since I moved here 6 years ago. I have one dog and three cats. The folks there have been the best! Harley, our pug had 2 bouts with cancer, and she's doing great thanks to Belle Mead. We wouldn't go anywhere else.

Belle Mead Animal Hospital is the best animal hospital because the doctors and staff are dedicated to their work. The hospital is always spotlessly clean and the receptionist staff greets every client by name (whether human or canine!) The doctors and techs there have only one goal: to cure each animal that walks or is carried through their door. This is a hospital where the medical staff is doing what they were born to do: save the lives of innocent animals.
Rick August 16, 2012 at 08:20 PM
Belle Mead has the the best Doctors and staff of any other place I have been. They really care about you pets and keep you well informed on any treatment.
Kim August 16, 2012 at 11:45 PM
My vote is belle mead animal hospital. I've been taking my pets to Dr Martin for about 9 years now. They provide the best care and have a wonderful staff.

I went to Amwell Bird Hospital a few years ago with an injured cockatiel. The exam room was filty, and I don't mean one-day's worth. The sink, counter, computer, etc., looked like it hadn't been washed in weeks. I am a licensed wildlife rehabilitator who has rehabbed songbirds and mammals for 15 years, yet the vet treated me like I was a moron. And he acted like I caused the injury to the bird. After $160, my bird died that day. I wouldn't bring a stuffed animal to that place. And I wouldn't NEVER recommend anyone else go there.
Jane Lavoie August 17, 2012 at 07:37 AM
Belle Mead also works with rescue groups and provides them with discounts.
Jane Lavoie August 17, 2012 at 07:50 AM
I have used nearly every Vet. on the list over tha last 35 years and can tell you good and bad about all of them. However, I have been using BM for the last several years and have nothing bad to say about them. They are courteous, friendly, and professional. It is obvious that the entire staff cares about your animals. They have done everything possible for my older, failing dogs. I've nevef felt pressured to do or purchase anything. Anything suggested has always been explained and the decission left up to me. They are a very friendly to everyone and to every animal!
Dan B. August 17, 2012 at 11:50 AM
Belle Mead Animal Hospital has always gone above and beyond for my animals and my family! I would never consider another vet. Dr. Martins and his staff are overly caring and compassionate with all the animals they treat!

Dr.Somjen at Belle Meade is the best vet I've known. I've been using her for my exotics for the past 2 years after a well known exotic vet in NYC recommended her to me. I've travelled to many vets from nyc-Manhattan to U of Pa for specialized services for my various pets before I knew about Dr Somjen. It's a bonus she's right here in NJ. I don't find Belle Mead to be expensive at all...especially considering the level of service you're getting from Somjen

Dr Martins and his staff at Belle Mead are fabulous!
Dave Williams August 17, 2012 at 07:15 PM
The Belle Mead Animal Hospital offers good care as do many other area vets. But I do agree that they are too fast to push for more tests an/or procedures that are more than likely unnecessary...and that runs up your bill. The Red Bank hospital is more of a specialist facility, but they are part of what is probably the finest veterinary establishment in the state. If your pet has a serious condition, Red Bank will diagnose and treat it right the first time. What also helps make the Bell Mead hospital appealing is thet the Grooming Rigg is located in the same building, and they are the best pet grooming establishment around, bar none. While they are not part of the animal hospital, their location there is convenient for a "full service" visit.
