South Branch Studio Hosting Knick's Courtside Dancers

Flair Dance Academy owner Amanda Grace is calling in some special friends to for a series of clinics on dance choreography that begins with a June 15 event featuring members of the NY Knicks City Dancers.

Grace is a former member of the Knicks City Dancers, as well as the former director, choreographer and coach of the New Jersey Devils dance team.

"They will teach sizzling jazz and hip hop combos, and will hold a question-and-answer segment," Grace said.

Students will receive photos with the Knicks dancers, autographed team placards—and many new skills. A junior clinic for ages 6-12 is set for 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. and a senior clinic for ages 13 and up from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

The clinics will follow her studio's June 8 recitals. 

The clinic launches as summer series that will include more of Grace's professional asosciates, including:

• An Aug. 3 clinic with New York-based professional dancer and choreographer Katie June, with two sessions—ages 7-11 from 1:30p.m. to 3 p.m. and ages 12 and up from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• An Aug. 24 series that will include Amanda Grace's own coaching (two sessions—ages 7-11 from 1:30p.m. to 3 p.m. and ages 12 and up from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.), followed by a national title-winning gymnast's Advanced Acrobatics Clinic from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

Other summer clinics include:

• June 22: Kidz Only Hip Hop, for ages 4-7 from 3-4 p.m.
• June 29: Beginner Acrobatics, all ages welcome, from 2-3 p.m.
• June 29 and July 27: Flairbots Boys Hip Hop, all ages welcome; from 3-4 p.m.
• July 20: Tumbling Toddlers Acro, ages 2-4, from 3-4 p.m.
• July 20: Flair Fairies (FLAIRIES) Ballet, ages 3-5, from 3-4 p.m.

All of the clinics will be held at Flair and are open to all dancers.
