Microsoft Store to Open, OneRepublic to Perform

The grand opening ceremony will be held at Bridgewater Commons May 19.

The sign has been out front for a while, and now the opening is coming, with the Microsoft Store scheduled to open in the May 19.

And the opening will be marked with fanfare and music, as the ceremonies will feature an evening performance by Grammy nominated band OneRepublic.

According to a spokesperson with Microsoft, hundreds of customers will be lining up outside the store for the opening, with a ribbon cutting ceremony beginning at 9:30 a.m., and featuring local dignitaries, a Microsoft Store executive and more.

The doors of the store will open at 10 a.m., as shoppers are invited in to look at products, including Windows 7 PCs, Windows Phones, Kinect for Xbox 360, Office 2010 and more. The store will also offer tech trainings, and will host community organizations in its theater space.

The celebration of the opening will continue into the evening, when OneRepublic takes to the stage in the store at 7 p.m.

Throughout the opening day, the Microsoft Store is planning to donate $1 million in software grants to the local chapter of Junior Achievement.

Good luck Microsoft. But i don't see the success like the Apple stores.
