Hillsborough Lowe's Remains Open, Though Others Close
Lowe's Inc. is closing 20 stores, but the Hillsborough location will stay open
The Hillsborough location of Lowe’s Hardware is not one of the 20 locations that Lowe’s Companies, Inc. will close, according to a Tuesday release from the company.
According to the release, Lowe’s Companies, Inc., will close 20 underperforming stores in 15 states. Ten stores closed at the end of business on Sunday, while the remaining locations will close after selling existing inventory items—about one month, according to company estimates.
“Closing stores is never easy, given the impact on hard-working employees and local communities,” Robert A. Niblock, chairman, president and CEO, said via release. “However, we have an obligation to make tough decisions when necessary to improve profitability and strengthen our financial position.”
