Players Ready to Open 'Spamalot'

Fans of Monty Python—aren't we all?—can enjoy the popular musical.

Monty Python's take on King Arthur's legendary search for the Holy Grail provided rich fodder for a smash Broadway musical—which will be presented on stage at the Somerset Valley Playhouse, complete with killer rabbits, cows and perhaps a few knights-who-say-you-know-what.

"Monthy Python's Spamalot" was a smash on Broadway, with music co-written by original Python member Eric Idle. The Somerset Valley Players' version, directed by Howard Whitmore with musical direction by Teddy Kernizan, opens Friday and runs through Oct. 6.

Featured players include Alicia Cordero, Erik Hall, Dillon Spears, Matt Dawson and Mike Patierno.

Showtimes are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are available online on the SVP THeatre website.
