Everything's Coming Up Roses for Hillsborough Artist

Nancy Edward's "Everything Roses" collection on display at Xact Studios.

Just in time for Valentine's Day, Hillsborough resident Nancy Edward's "Everything Roses" show at the Xact Studios features originals and prints of roses in watercolor and oil, showcasing the variety and beauty of the flowers.

Edwards has exhibited in various shows locally and abroad, including at New York City's Lincoln Center. Her most recent accomplishment is the completetion of two large oil paintings for the front of .

She'll be hosting an artist's reception from 10 a.m. to  2p.m. Saturday at Xact Studios to launch her new classes at the studio.Edwards has taught art at UMDNJ for 18 years to adolescents, as well as to adults, children and people with special needs.

In addition, she prides herself in planning art events with a message. She was the creator of the Hands of Hope Nationwide Art Project and the Red Ribbon Design-A-CD Contest. Her next collaborative project will be working with the Somerset/Mercer Cancer Coalition in developing an Art and Photography exhibit call "RAYS." It will share the beauty of the sun, with an educational component to protect oneself of the harmful rays.
