Did you know that the Friends of the Hillsborough Library have daily book sales?

DVDs, CDs and hardcover books are only $1. Paperbacks, records, children’s books and magazines are only 25 cents—and VHS tapes are free!

January Special: All hardcover fiction books are half price: 50 cents each. 

The Hillsborough Library will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 31 and Wednesday, Jan. 1. Happy New Year!

Adult Services Programs from Jan. 6 through Jan. 18:

ESL Conversation Group – Jan. 6 and Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. 
Sign up for our mixed gender ESL Conversation Group in the Hillsborough Library Conference Room. Ages 18 and older. Must know basic English.
 
ACA Assistance Services – Jan. 11 and Jan. 18 at 1 p.m. 
Cognosante Enrollment Assistance Services will be available to answer questions and assist community members with signing up for the Affordable Health Care Act.

Zumba – Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. 
Zumba combines high energy music with unique moves that allow you to dance your way to a fitter you with exciting rhythms. Join us for an energizing eight-week series: Wednesdays Jan. 8, Jan. 15, Jan. 22, Jan. 29, Feb. 5, Feb. 12, Feb. 19 and Feb. 26. As long as you are moving and having fun, there is no wrong way to Zumba! Please remember to wear comfortable clothing and bring water. 

Book Discussion: To Marry An English Lord – Jan. 9 at 3 p.m. 
Downton Abbey is back! Continue to explore the Edwardian Age through our book discussion. Returning as well as new group members welcome! 

Mindfulness: Overcoming stress, anxiety, fear, and unhappiness—Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. 
Dr. Laura DeMarzo, Ed.D., and Linda Ritter, LCSW, from The Center for Psychological Services, will guide us through a series of self esteem exercises using affirmations to identify negative beliefs about yourself and learn to change them. Their talk will also incorporate connected breathing and mindfulness, conscious living and eating. Participants should bring a mat or towel for meditation exercises.

This is Therapy Dog International's Program: Children Reading to Dogs! Spend time reading to Xena, a TDI certified dog! Each registered child will get 10 special minutes practicing reading skills while Xena listens.
