Holidays? Already?

Tis the season to be way too early.

It’s no big secret that I’m kind of the.

I do not like shoving through malls and crowds of rude and obnoxious people who get angry with store employees (This is why I usually shop at 10 p.m. on a Monday or Tuesday. But this year I did all my shopping while in Boston, so it’s mostly done!). I do not like 90 percent of the pop-music takes on holiday songs. And what's with the decorations that are already up? I usually eat too many Christmas cookies, which I’m actually okay with as long as they’re good cookies.

But there is one other part of the holidays that I do enjoy, and that’s donating to Toys for Tots each year. Not only is it helping those who are less fortunate—adult me can’t imagine kids not opening toys on holiday mornings—but it indulges the child’s thrill about walking through the toy store or toy aisle.
