Hillsborough Officials Resolve to Buy Equipment After Winter-Storm Damage

The Hillsborough Township Committee, during its Tuesday meeting, said  it purchase equipment that would aid in the maintenance of the town following a harsh winter.

The agenda for the meeting states there is authorization for the purchase of one 4-Ton Falcon RME Asphalt Recycling Hot Patcher Dump Trailer from McGrath Municipal Equipment, LLC in an amount no more than $35,695.00.

Another purchase is for one John Deere X739 Sub Compact Tractor & Lawn products, Inc., in the amount no more than $21,795.00

The purchases were recommended by the capital committee, and the board maintained that this would address the weathering of Hillsborough’s roads and lawns due to heavy snowfall and rainfall.

Another topic discussed during the meeting was the ordinance that would provide the implementation of the Sanitary Sewer Extension Project and other expenses that appropriate to about $1.6 million.

There will also be an issuance of about $1.5 million in bonds or notes to finance the aforementioned and direct the special assessment of the cost as well.

The ordinance will be discussed further on July 22, 2014.
