Heading Off Sniffle Season

Decreasing temperatures give way to sniffle season.

 

Colder temperatures are a respite for some residents after a summer of too many hot and humid days.

Unfortunately, the cooler weather gives rise to sniffle season and the threat of colds, coughs, flu and more. Luckily, as , there are a number of places to get a flu vaccine around town.

If you're getting vaccinated, be sure to call the vaccination site first though. Some, like the Hillsborough Health Department's clinics, only offer the adult vaccine so those under 18 will need to get vaccinated elsewhere.

You Need to Know Where to Take Your Toddlers: The hosts Toddler Time for 2s and 3s at 10:30 a.m. today. The program features songs and stories with a focus on farms. The program does not require registration.

You Need to Know Where to Get Vaccinated: The Hillsborough Township Health Department in the . The vaccine is free to those who present their Medicare cards, but there is a $20 charge for those who are not on Medicare.

You Need to Know About Auctions: Looking for a pickup truck, dump truck, ambulance, or bus? . You can preview the items at the County Public Works Garage, 410 Roycefield Road, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today. The auction begins today too and runs until 6 p.m. Sunday at http://www.usgovbid.com .

You Need to Know About Afterschool Science: Aspiring scientists can visit the at 4:30 p.m. today for some hands-on science fun. The program, which is geared toward third to fifth graders, focuses on optical illusions. It’s a free program, but you’ll want to call the Children’s Desk at 908-369-2200, ext. 14 to let them know you’re coming.
