Green Fair Focuses on Home and Community

Temple Beth El hosts its first annual Green Fair Sunday.

Whether you’re new to “going green” or a long-time practitioner of environmentally friendly practices, Temple-Beth-El’s first annual Green Fair is the place to be on Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Green Fair is being presented as part of Temple Beth-El’s Mitzvah Day, an annual community service program. Bring the whole family; there are activities for all ages. The temple is located at 67 U.S. Highway 206, Hillsborough.

The Green Fair provides interactive educational experiences that will inspire and inform attendees about how they can improve their environmental footprint at home, in the temple, and in the community.

Inspired by its recent Green Audit, in which the temple assessed its own performance against critical “green” practices, the Temple’s “Green Team” joined forces with local community organizations to provide this entertaining and educational event.

Displays will offer information on recycling, transportation options, composting, energy, alternative cleaning products, and local and organic food resources. Activities include a tree identification walk and arts and crafts tables featuring recycled materials.

Several door prizes will be given out, including a composter, valued at $50, that was donated by the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

Come join us for a fun and informative event! For more information, contact Temple Administrator Hadas Elami at 908-722-0674.
