Governor Christie Wants To Do Away With Campaign Donation Limits And Realty Transfer Fees

During his town hall meeting in Somerset County on Tuesday Gov. Chris Christie said he believes there should be no limits on the amount of money people can donate to political campaigns, as long as they disclose their contributions within a 48-period, according to nj.com.

The governor said this would add transparency to the current donation system which always donors to make anonymous donations to independent groups who don’t have to reveal the source of their money. This comes about six months after Christie took over as chair of the Republican Governors Association, according to nj.com.

He also expressed his interest in abolishing realty transfer fees, which are the seventh-largest source of tax revenue in the state, according to nj.com.
