Dreaming of a White Halloween?

Cross your fingers, throw salt over your shoulder—whatever your superstition, do and hope for no snow on Halloween!

That's right, we've all heard the weather forecasts that suggest at least some snow for this weekend. And, though fall's meant to be colder, snow is a bit much.

Perhaps I'm missing something—I don't remember snow for Halloween when I was a kid. So I have to ask: what's the earliest you remember seeing snow as kid?

Here's what you need to do:

  1. You Need to Know About Stories and Crafts: Two to six year olds have a chance to wear their costumes one more time, as well as hearing some at the today. The program begins at 10 a.m., and you’ll want to register by calling 908-369-2200, extension 14.
  2. You Need to Know Where to Get Rid of Old Clothes: from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot. Items must be in tightly tied plastic bags, but can include clothing, belts, shoes, handbags, bedding, curtains, towels, stuffed animals and toys.
  3. You Need to Know It’s the Playoffs: For Hillsborough’s Junior Raiders teams. at thebeginning at 9 a.m. today. The games are free, so you won’t burn a hole in your wallet and you’ll be supporting the kids’ teams.
  4. You Need to Know It's Canceled:The  at  has been postponed to Nov. 2. It'll take place from 6 to 10 p.m. that day.
  5. You Need to Know About Food and Wine: is set for 7 p.m. at St. Ann School, 29 Second Avenue, Raritan. The $40 tickets will get you access to food that’s paired with the correct wine, and access to a basket auction.
