Check Out the Y Fall Festival Next Week

The doors will be open for swimming, tours and more at this annual event.

To welcome in the fall season, the Hillsborough Family YMCA will throw open its doors to the community on Sept. 14 for a free day of fun for all ages.

The nonprofit Y will host classes in fitness, dance and have other activities for children and adults, as well as offer healthy food and snacks. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn how the Y brings families together to enjoy healthy living.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., staff and volunteers will be on hand for activities that include health, wellness, swimming, games, youth sports and enrichment. There will be activities for everyone in the family.

“We’re inviting the entire community to join us for this great community event,” said Mark Ibarra, Membership Director at the Hillsborough Family YMCA. “Those who visit us will be able to participate in our programs and enjoy an open swim time.”

An open house in the Child Development Center will give parents a chance to meet staff and learn about how the Y’s child development programs enrich and enhance each child’s cognitive, social and emotional development and provide an educational, nurturing environment for children ages 6 weeks through kindergarten.
