Breaking into Spring

Or just looking forward to spring break!

If you hear cries of "Freedom" coming from Hillsborough Schools today, don't be alarmed—it's not a reenactment of "Braveheart" or anything.  Though we know the students occasionally admit to  maybe, just a little bit enjoying school, breaks are always welcome too.  And we're sure the warm weather has the students and their teachers happy about a week off!

Here's what you need to know about today:

  1. You Need to Know Tax Day is Monday: That’s right. Normally, today would be tax day, but the IRS extended the deadline.
  2. You Need to Know What to Do Tonight: Lord Stirling Park’s Environmental Education Center hosts Voices in the Night at 7 p.m. at 190 Lord Stirling Rd, Basking Ridge, NJ.  During the event, a naturalist will lead attendees around the ponds to hear the voices of the night.  The event costs $7 for adults and $6 for seniors and youths. Contact 908-766-2489 for further information.  Advanced payment is required.
  3. You Need to Know About High School Sports: The Hillsborough High School Boys Volleyball team takes on Old Bridge High School tonight at 5 pm. at HHS.  Go Boro!
  4. You Need to Know More About Recycling: Ever wonder what happens in a recycling center?  In honor of County Government Month, the Somerset County Recycling center will be open for two tours today.  The first tour is at 9:30 a.m. and the second is at 1 p.m.  County residents should contact Melissa Harvey at 908-231-7109 for further information.
  5. You Need to Know It’s the Last Day of School Before Spring Break: That’s right, Hillsborough Schools are on Spring Break next week.  They’ll be back in session April 26.
