SPECIAL FOOD DRIVE SET TO LAUNCH FOR WORKING FAMILIES IN NEED IN OUR COMMUNITIES

So many working families are struggling, having difficulty making ends meet with the ongoing unstable economy. Every day, there is news of job lay-offs, corporations downsizing, businesses closing, people working fewer hours and earning less pay, healthcare programs are diminishing, not to mention the higher costs of living. Many families that need assistance today are the formerly employed and the underemployed experiencing financial setbacks.  They are struggling and need help.

Bentley Community Services, Inc., a designated 501 (c) 3 charitable organization, is collecting healthy non-perishable food items from September 15-30, 2013 to provide relief for these struggling, working families in need. There are designated drop off locations in our local communities where containers are set ready to be filled during that time to receive generous donations. “We are so grateful that various local entities that are aware of the need are participating with us as host drop off locations for our healthy food drive”, says Dorothy Stearns, Executive Director of Bentley Community Services.  “The shelves of our healthy food pantry need replenishment every week after participant families receive their provisions donated by our generous providers”.
