 urland-1\nThe name Sourland is  believed to be derived from &ldquo\;sorr
 el-land&rdquo\; which describes the  reddish-brown colored soils encount
 ered by the pioneering farmers..but  this hike is anything but sour.&nbs
 p\; Located on the edge of suburbia\, the  4\,000 acre Sourland Mountain
  Preserve is a great way to escape and enjoy  connecting with the outdoo
 rs.&nbsp\; We will enjoy a late-spring hike through  pristine woods and 
 rocky hillsides.&nbsp\; After we have our fill of the  fresh air the gro
 up will head out for drinks and a late lunch (totally  optional but alwa
 ys fun).\nALSO! Since it is Father's Day all ticketed guests may bring t
 heir father for  fre*! Or if you are a father you can bring your kids fo
 r fre*. Of  course this is assuming all guests can handle the hike.  Mem
 ber Cost: $5 for the first 5 $10 for the next 6 to 25 $20 at the door  N
 on-Member Cost: $20 online and at the door.  Tickets: There are a limite
 d number of tickets for sale. Tickets are not mailed\,  but your name wi
 ll be kept at the door. All sales are final.  Specs: The hike is classif
 ied as moderate with some uphill.  Length of the hike is about 5.5 &nd
 ash\; 6 miles long and we will walk at a moderate pace. The hike should 
 take about 3 hours. As with all hikes you must be in good\, athletic sha
 pe.  Sweeper: If the group size is large we are going to look for a volu
 nteer to act  as a sweeper. Sweepers will walk at the end of the hike li
 ne and will  make sure the group stays together.  Hike Leader: Keira wil
 l be leading this hike. She will make sure the hike starts on time so pl
 ease arrive on time.  What to bring: Hiking boots and water (required). 
 Sunblock and bug spray recommended. We will be stopping for a break at R
 oaring Brook\, so a light snack or a  small lunch is recommended.&nbsp\;

 ts will be refunded.  Directions: From Points North: Head south on I-287
 . Take Exit 17 and continue south on US 202/206 for  about 1 mile until 
 the circle.&nbsp\; Follow the signs for 206 south (3rd exit  on circle).
 &nbsp\; After about 6.0 miles\, turn right onto Amwell Road (County  514
 ) and proceed for 2.8 miles to East Mountain Road. Turn left onto  East 
 Mountain Road and follow it for about 1.8 miles to the entrance to  Sour
 land Mountain Preserve\, on the right.  From New Brunswick: Take Hamilto
 n Street.&nbsp\; Once it turns into Amwell Road\, continue west  for app
 roximately 7.4 miles to intersection of US 206.&nbsp\; Continue through 
  light\, proceed for 2.8 miles to East Mountain Road.&nbsp\; Follow dire
 ctions  from above.  From Princeton: Head north on US 206 for  approxima
 tely 11 miles.&nbsp\; Turn left onto Raider Blvd\, go to second light  a
 nd make a left onto Amwell Road.&nbsp\; Follow directions from above.
