Woman Airlifted After Suffering Severe Burns to Legs
Oven fire sends Van Fleet Court resident to hospital.
A Van Fleet Court resident was airlifted Monday morning after suffering severe burns to both of her legs from an oven fire, Hillsborough Police said.
The victim, who is 66 years of age, was airlifted to St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston Monday morning shortly after 9:30 a.m., police said.
According to police, the fire was extinguished by the homeowner and was contained to the stove and hood area of the kitchen. There was no structural damage to the residence, police said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Hillsborough Police Department, Hillsborough Rescue Squad, Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Co. 36, Neshanic Fire Co. 48, Hillsborough Fire Safety, Hillsborough Construction Department and the N.J. State Police medevac responded to the incident.
