A power-play goal with less than two minutes remaining stopped the Hillsborough High team in a 1-0 loss to Bridgewater-Raritan Friday night in the first round of the Skyland Conference Cup at the Bridgewater Sports Arena.
The game went through two full periods without a score. As the clock wore down in the third period, Bridgewater began mounting an advantage in the Hillsborough end. With just two minutes to go, Hillsborough was called for a penalty. Panther captain David Monahan was guarded as he stood just outside the crease when the puck came to him and he slipped it past goalie Tim Sweeney with just 1:37 left in the game.
