Super Bowl Prep: Finding the Drinks

The big gamel is four days away. Are you ready?

With only a few days before the Super Bowl, you already have your menu set, the invites sent and might be preparing the annual pool.

But what about the drinks?

It’s among the most prominent times to partake in the stronger set of drinks, and, luckily, Hillsborough has several shops to grab your favorites in advance of the game.

If you’re looking for wine, NEC liquors, Hillsborough’s newest shop, can help you find a wine, scotch or other liquor to suit the occasion. Meanwhile, Petrock’s Liquors stocks both packs of beers and bottles of craft brews. Bottle King is a third option that’s right across from the ShopRite and Stop and Shop lots.Regardless of what you drink, be sure to have a friend who won’t partake to drive you home—or call one of these local cab companies for a ride.

Here’s what you need to know today:

  1. You Need to Know It’s for Kids: The Hillsborough Public Library hosts a preschool book club for children ages three to five and their parents at 10 a.m. today. You’ll need to register before taking the tykes to the program, which you can do by calling the Children’s Desk at 908-369-2200, extension 14.
  2. You Need to Know Where to Wrestle: The Hillsborough wrestling team takes on Phillipsburg at 7 p.m. tonight at Hillsborough High School.
  3. You Need to Know About Politics: The Hillsborough Democratic Alliance’s meeting, set for 7 p.m. at Avalon at Hillsborough, will feature an address from Jackie Cornell-Bechelli, recently named New Jersey State Director of President Obama's re-election campaign.
  4. You Need to Know About Workshops: Hillsborough Massage Therapy holds a hot foot bath workshop—the treatment is supposed to help chest, nasal and sinus congestion and relieve stress—at 7 p.m. tonight. You’ll need to call them at 908-359-7777 to ensure there are still spots in the $40 program.
  5. You Need to Know About Tomorrow: It’s Groundhog Day! Will you be hoping for winter, spring, or just digging out the Bill Murray movie?
