Looking for a night of singing, dancing and . . . cooking?
Kathleen Academy of Dance combines the three during a Pampered Chef fundraiser at 7 p.m. today. Broadway star David J. V. Meenan Meenan, who's starred in Broadway productions of 42 Street, a Chorus Line, Singin' in the Rain and held the Guinness World Record for tap dancing, will lead the hour long presentation. Sale proceeds will benefit Dance for the Cure.
Those who are able to attend should call the studio at 908-359-8888 to RSVP. Those who can't attend can order online by visiting www.pamparedched.biz/broadwaychef—just be sure to enter the keyword "Dance" when you're checking out so Dance for the Cure gets sale credit.
Here's what you need to know today:
- You Need to Know About Weather: The Hillsborough Public Library hosts a 10 a.m. program for children ages four to six that focuses on weather. You can register for the program by calling the Children’s Desk at 908-369-2200, extension 14.
- You Need to About Comedy: Maestro206 hosts an open mic comedy night that begins at 7 p.m. tonight, and has no cover to get in. Aspiring comics and old pros are welcome to share their jokes for a chance to win some prizes.
- You Need to Know It’s For Teens: The Hillsborough Public Library’s Teen Advisory Board meets at 7 p.m. tonight to plan upcoming teen programs. Have an idea or something you want to see? Head out to the meeting—registration isn’t required.
- You Need to Have a Reason to Toast: The Hillsborough Toastmasters Club, the local branch of the international non-profit devoted to improving public speaking skills, meets in the Hillsborough Municipal Building tonight. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m., though those attending should arrive by 7:15 p.m. Guests are welcome to attend.
- You Need to Know How to Be Green: Borogreen, Hillsborough’s local green group, meets at 7 p.m. tonight. The meeting is open to members and non-members, but you’ll need to check www.borogreen.org for the meeting location since it changes each month.
