Each year, our home's tree is decorated with candy canes — which disappear on a daily basis!
My son's grandmother brought back this menorah as a gift from Israel — and each year we light it in her memory.

It's Christmas evening in Hillsborough, and most people are sitting around relaxing after what may have been a full day of celebrations, or at least time given to relaxing and reflection.

Did you have a special Christmas tree or a menorah this holiday season that brightened your home? Did they light up the faces of your children?

Did you take any photos that show off your beautiful tree or the menorah as you lit it during Hanukkah?

What are your favorite decorating tricks? Each year I cover our tree with candy canes — a very popular and picturesque addition to a small evergreen.

One advantage: the candy canes don't have to be stored off season. The disadvantage: If you try this, you likely will be required to keep buying new "decorations" until the tree comes down to replace those that steadily disappear.
