Two injured drivers were airlifted to an area hospital.

Both drivers involved in a crash were airlifted from the scene of the accident that completely shut down Route 206 in both directions between Old Somerville Road and Andria Avenue for several hours on Friday.

The accident occurred at the corner of Route 206 and Somerville Road at about 10:30 a.m. The crash involved a Lab Corp minivan and a Calandra's bakery truck. Both vehicles sustained significant front-end damage.

The Hillsborough Township Police Department released a Nixle alert shortly after 10:30 a.m., stating traffic was being diverted down Farm Road and Andria Avenue. The roadway was re-opened several hours later.

A police dispatcher could not provide further details Friday afternoon.
