Rounding Out a Weird-Weather Year
It's a year of weird weather but was summer enough of a break from snow?
With winter (technically, it's still fall!) around the corner, Hillsborough Patch has a question for residents.
Was the summer enough of a break from cold, ice, storms and shoveling for you to actually anticipate snow again?
There are already programs to gear the kids to the winter season, but they're innocent of shoveling and slippery roads.
Here's what you need to know today:
You Need to Know It’s for Moms: The Hillsborough Public Library hosts Monday Morning for Moms, a program for parents and caregivers at 10 a.m. today. Children up to three years old are invited to attend, and toys will be provided for them to play. You’ll want to let them know you’re coming, which can be done by calling the children’s desk at 908-369-2200, extension 14.
You Need to Know About Snow: A story session for children ages four, five and six at the Hillsborough Public Library aims to help them with language skills. It begins at 1 p.m. and does not require registration.
You Need to Know More About Words: The Hillsborough Public Library offers an introduction to Microsoft Word at 2 p.m. today. It’s part two of a two-part program, and those with their own laptops are encouraged to bring the machines with them.
You Need to Know About Sports: Raider Girls Basketball has scrimmages South Brunswick (Monday) and Hopewell Valley (Thursday) this week, while the boys take on Scotch Plains-Fanwood on Tuesday. Wrestling has a scrimmage versus South Brunswick on Thursday, and swimming takes on Montgomery on Tuesday.
You Need to Know The Board of Education Meets Tonight: At 7:30 p.m. in the Auten Road Intermediate School cafeteria.
