Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Nominate the Best Place for Pizza

Let us know the best pizza so we can put it to a vote and find out which is the Readers’ Choice 2012 winner.

Where's the best place for pizza?

Patch is relaunching its Readers’ Choice program and we’re asking you, your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and anyone else to nominate the best spots in Hillsborough Patch.

We’ll keep accepting nominations through July 9. After that, nominations will be closed and we’ll start the voting, so make sure to get in your favorites now.

All you need to do to nominate a business is to add it in the comments below. If you already see the business you want to nominate, make sure to add your comment about why it should be included, because we may not be able to add all businesses and we want to make sure the top ones make it into the poll.

Thanks in advance for your participation.

Sal's Gourmet Pizza on Triangle Road. They always prepare great pizza to order and deliver it super fast. The drivers are very nice, too.

G Italian Gourmet on 206. Best pizza in HIllsborough hands down. Bella used to be the best but it seems like in the past 6 months or so, it's started to go downhill.

I'm sorry, but nominating Papa John's for best pizza is like nominating McDonald's for best burger.

Sloppy Sal's!!!!
Chicken, Mozzarella Sticks, French Fries, Ground Beef, and BBQ sauce on a Pizza! How can it get any better than that? Add a little hot sauce. Yum!

I used to order from Sal's every week (both pizza and pasta) but their portion sizes got smaller and smaller. I finally called to speak to the owner and he said I was lying! I never, ever went back.

My vote goes to just about every non-franchise pizzeria in town. I've eaten at most of them, at one time or another, and I've had very few "bad pies." Typically, I get my pies from Angelo's, Alfonso's, or Victor's - all local for me. I suspect that most people's favorite pizza comes from the pizzeria closest to home.

G Italian Gourmet and Angelo's. I'd eat frozen pizza before
Papa John's (nothing against family businesses--it's just horrible pizza).

I couldn't disagree more about Papa John's. Their pizza is amazing and their dipping sauces put it over the top of any other pizza in town.

Papa John's, hands down. They have the best Hawaiian BBQ pizza for miles around and you can customize every single pizza: regular crust/thin crust, sauce, and toppings, and even regular bake or well-done. Their dipping sauces are great. My kids gobble up their crusts because they can dip them in the sauce. My kids also love watching their pizzas being made right in front of them at the restaurant. Overall, always a great experience and great pizza. If you haven't tried them, you're missing out!

Papa John's! My daughter and I are both vegetarian so we love their veggie pizza. The veggies are unbelievably fresh. They also use a separate pizza cutter to cut it so we know the same cutter was not just used on a meat pizza. This makes a HUGE difference to us vegeterians!

Would have put Joe's a few years back,, but have long ago given up the "30 minutes" phone order only to wait another 25 minutes at Joe's counter. Have been going to Alfonso's and the pizza is great, and ALWAYS ready when I arrive.

A few years back Sal (from Sal's on Triangle) owned Joe's. We like both. But if you see a difference in Joe's, try Sal's and see if that brings you back.
