Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Nominate the Best Place for Frozen Desserts

Let us know the best place for frozen desserts so we can put it to a vote and find out which is the Readers’ Choice 2012 winner.

Where can you find the best frozen dessert?

Patch is relaunching its Readers’ Choice program and we’re asking you, your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and anyone else who knows to nominate the best spots in Hillsborough Patch.

We’ll keep accepting nominations through July 9. After that, nominations will be closed and we’ll start the voting, so make sure to get in your favorites now.

All you need to do to nominate a business is to add it in the comments below. If you already see the business you want to nominate, make sure to add your comment about why it should be included, because we may not be able to add all businesses and we want to make sure the top ones make it into the poll.

Thanks in advance for your participation.

Super Sundaes. Although I usually agree with Laura, custard in NOT ice cream. I do have to agree with her, however, that Rita's is great. I love their Blendinis.

Perhaps the category should be "frozen desserts" rather than ice cream? Not too many "ice cream" places in town any more other than Super Sundaes, Carvel, Baskin Robbins, and, well, the supermarket? If you make it "frozen desserts", I'll say Rita's just because my kids love it and it's the easiest for an allergy mom like me to take her kid (online ingredient info, so I know exactly what flavors he can have before I get there). Haven't been to Fruity Yogurt, but their corporate site had the ingredient info as well for me to reference should we ever get over there.

For ice cream only, I'll say Super Sundaes, because allergy boy can eat the ice cream cake from there, Carvel isn't egg-free at all, and BR has few options for my son and was so overpriced for ice cream cakes I will never go back for a cake (only one cake he could eat).

Rita's for a refreshing "this heat is too much" treat; Super Sundaes for ice cream!

Ice Cream: Super Sundaes
Custard/Ices: Rita's
Wish: Cold Stone Creamery would open in Hillsborough...they are the best in my book!
Overpriced and not worth it: Baskin Robbins

Super Sundaes! Addicted to White Gold ice cream. Rita's is OK, but overpriced for ices in my opinion.

Overpriced? Between the Raiders card, KidStuff book, and my Entertainment Book (and having two kids), I've always got a buy 2 get 1 free coupon for Rita's LOL.

Rita's for Mango gelati! It's like a giant creamsicle in a cup! (YUM)
Super Sundaes for the more standard sundaes and cones.
I miss Briken's!

Super Sundae - the only place around here that has malt as far as I know since Brikens closed.

Number 2 goes to Fruity Yogurt.

Ritas? over priced ice.

Tried the Stone Cold in Flem 2x. Wasn't worth much IMHO. Better than that Maggie Moo that was here for a short time.

Rita's!!! Should be open all year! There were some nice days in February I could've used some Mango. And they should sell pretzels, too.
