Nearly 3 Times Over Limit, Man Flees Crash, Cops Say

Hillsborough resident charged with DWI, leaving the scene of an accident and for not having a driver's license.

A township man who was nearly three times over the legal limit and did not have a driver's license fled after he crashed his vehicle on New Centre Road, Hillsborough Police said.

Eleazar Chan-Sanchez, 39, was charged with DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident, being an unlicensed driver, failing to maintain a lane and failure to observe a traffic device.

According to an incident report released Friday, Chan-Sanchez was involved in a one-car crash on New Centre Road on Sept. 2. When Chan-Sanchez was arrested, he registered a .22 percent blood-alcohol level, police said.

Chan-Sanchez was processed and released.

No further details were provided.

He had no license but he was released without even checking his immigration status.
And we wonder why our country is bankrupt.
At least he's out in time to vote for Obama .

Wth do you mean they are not allowed to ask!?!? If that is true that is complete INSANITY. HE WAS ARRESTED for multiple accounts how can they not ask if he is legally in this country??? Ugh so frustrating!

It is frustrating, but I asked a friend the same question not long ago, She told me that unless it was a criminal matter (which I don't think DWI and the other things are) they can not ask.

Yeah let's see if an american pulled this stunt in a 3rd world country how easy they would be on 'em?! NOT! Why is it we are such 'softies'? Pretty sad when our Fed Gov't is suing states that actually try to enforce checking immigration status, the problem lies there...
