Hillsborough Landscaping Van Crashes Into Home
Seven hurt as driver lost control exiting Route 22 in Bridgewater, police said.
A van owned by a Hillsborough landscaping company crashed into a Bridgewater home early Thursday morning, injuring seven of eight occupants of the vehicle, police said.
Leopoldo Zavala, 45, of Plainfield, and six passengers in the van he was driving were hospitalized after the vehicle crashed into the porch of a Bridgewater house on Garretson Road at 6:37 a.m., Bridgewater Police said.
Police said the accident occurred when Zavala lost control of the 1994 Ford van owned by Landscape Maintenance Services in Hillsborough while exiting Route 22 onto Garrettson Road.
No one was home at the time of the crash, police said.
Zavala was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, in New Brunswick, with injuries to his legs. Six passengers in the van were transported to Somerset Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Police said one passenger was not injured.
Rescue squads from Green Knoll, Martinsville, Somerville and Whitehouse responded to the incident, as well as the Somerset Mobile Intensive Care Unit.
Police said the incident is still under investigation and the cause has not yet been determined. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Robert Stasiulaitis at 908-722-4111, ext. 5159.

Are they gonna check their immigration status? I'm sure they all have healthcare plans through their employer. The taxpayers won't be paying for their care.
