Hillsborough K-9 Unit Helps Bust Alleged Drug Dealer
Franklin man charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
The Hillsborough Police Department's K-9 unit helped bust a Franklin man accused of trying to sell marijuana, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said Wednesday.
Corey Hall, 23, was charged with third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the prosecutor's office, detectives received a tip that Hall was allegedly selling marijuana near his home on Tall Oaks Road in Franklin.
Members of the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force and Franklin Police officers set up surveillance Tuesday in the Tall Oaks Road area.
The surveillance team witnessed Hall leave the area Tuesday night shortly after 7 p.m., and conducted a motor vehicle stop, the prosecutor's office said.
The Hillsborough K-9 unit was able to detect the presence of narcotics, the prosecutor's office said.
After obtaining a search warrant, the detectives seized two Ziploc bags containing marijuana, two plastic bags of marijuana, one silver digital scale, numerous plastic baggies and a box of sandwich bags, the prosecutor's office said. Detectives also seized $458 from Hall's possession, the prosecutor's office said.
Hall was arrested and lodged at the Somerset County Jail.
