Hillsborough Ices Bridgewater, 4-2

Scoreless game opens up in second period.

The game was scoreless through the first 24 minutes, but the Hillsborough High School ice hockey team broke through to beat Bridgewater 4-2 Friday night at Protec Hockey Ponds Ice Rink.

Hillsborough drew first blood when captain Mike Laneve scored at 8:30 of the period with assists by Craig Ismaili and Bradley Bowers. Just 17 seconds later, Raider Alex Wizna scored the second goal. Wizna scored again in the 12th minute of the period.

The game stayed 3-0 until the 14th minute of the third period when Matt Liebers scored for Bridgewater-Raritan.  Just 36 seconds later, David Monahan added a goal to bring the score to 3-2.

In an attempt to tie the game, Bridgewater pulled its goalie in the final minute of play. The Raiders stopped the push and Brett Siebrist fired a rink-long shot into the Panther goal.
