Teacher Henry 'Wonderful' in Parent's Eyes
We received great praise for high school staff member when we asked for your stories.
This week was National Teacher Appreciation Week. On Tuesday, we told you how you could tell the New Jersey Department of Education stories about your favorite teacher.
We also invited you to tell us about a teacher who has made an impact in your life or the lives of your children.
Dana Gordon took us up on the offer, sending a note about the great job Roberta Henry has done in the district.
Henry, a family and consumer sciences teacher at Hillsborough High School, has made an impression on Gordon through her work with the department's preschool.
"Without a doubt we love Mrs. Henry over at Hillsborough High School," Gordon said. "My son has been in the preschool there for three years."
Gordon noted that the preschool program is unique, as not many districts have it. She said the students who prepare the lessons and run the school based on their first semester studies with Henry have also been impressive.
"It is a fantastic program that not all towns have and I am grateful for it," she said.
Gordon sent in the photo of Henry and the students with her son.
"Not only is she wonderful but every high school student who has taught there is fantastic," Gordon said. "We have kept in contact with quite a few of them since they have graduated as well. The dedication of the kids with Mrs. Henry is second to none. Every year they have given me well-rounded feedback on my son, and helped me understand how I can help him develop. These students are amazing."
We thank Gordon for sharing her great experience with Henry!

Roberta Henry is a true gem! She is equally skilled at understanding the development of preschoolers as she is at teaching future educators! She was also an invaluable resource to us, as parents when each of my boys participated in the HHS preschool program. I agree, wholeheartedly, that Roberta is worthy of this recognition!
