Hillsborough H.S. Garners Another Honor

Newsweek says it's one of the top 1,000 in the nation.

 

Two weeks after finding a spot the top high schools in the nation as ranked by U.S. News & World Report, Hillsborough High School has garnered more recognition.

Newsweek announced Monday that Hillsborough High School has made its list of "America's Best High Schools 2012." The publication listed its top 1,000 public high schools "that have proven to be the most effective in turning out college-ready grads."

The publication ranked Hillsboorugh 721 in the country. The top-rated school in the state was Freehold's Biotechnology High School, coming in at No. 20. The school with the best rank in Somerset County was Ridge High School, rated No. 140 in the nation.

The publication says its list is based on six components provided by school administrators. Those are graduation rate, college matriculation rate, AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student, average SAT/ACT scores, average AP/IB/AICE scores, and AP courses offered per student.
