Raiders fans can get their fix tonight, when Hillsborough's own football team takes to the turf during their season opener game.
The team takes on rival Bridgewater Raritan, and the game signals the start of Kevin Carty Jr.'s coaching.
Here's what you need to know today:
- You Need to Know To Try a New Workout:FitNFirm gym offers Tai Chi class from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today. The class is $15 and those interested should call 908-281-0013 to reserve a spot.
- You Need to Know Jersey Cares: Hillsborough-based Operation Shoebox will take part in Jersey Cares' efforts to commemorate 9/11. The activities begin at 6 p.m. at the Route 206 site, and will involve sorting donated food and hygiene items and assembling care packages.
- You Need to Know About Football: It's the first game of the 2011 season, versus Bridgewater-Raritan. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Hillsborough High School.
- You Need to Know About Garage Sales: A garage sale is scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday, at 325 South Branch Road. Items for sale include bikes, a fax machine, a TV, Playstation2, various games and more.
- You Need to Know About Yard Sales: At least five homes on Baker Circle, Tunison Close and Alliger Close co-host a yard sale that begins at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Best of luck to our Raiders football team. As a coach at the youth level in town, it appears the whole coaching staff is exuding a new confidence and desire to compete at the highest level. As they say in football, emotion is not taught its caught....LETS GO RAIDERS!!!!!
