Flags Will Fly Half-Staff For Biondi
Executive order affects state departments, offices and agencies on Wednesday.
Flags will fly at half-staff across the state on Wednesday to honor late Assemblyman Pete Biondi (R-Hillsborough), who died of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma last week after winning his bid for re-election.
The executive order, signed by Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno as acting governor on Monday, states all flags "shall be flown at half-staff at all State departments, offices, agencies, and instrumentalities during appropriate hours on Wednesday."
On Monday, mourners gathered at United Reformed Church in Somerville to pay their respects to Biondi.
The executive order issued by the governor's office says "it is fitting and appropriate to honor the memory and mourn the passing of Assemblyman Biondi."
