The family living at 6 Fisher Drive will be staying with relatives after a Friday morning fire left their home uninhabitable.

No injuries were sustained during the fire, which occurred at 7:55 a.m., according to Hillsborough Township Police. The fire is believed to have started in the basement, and, at the time of police arrival, had spread to the first floor.

The residents of the single-family house were home at the time of the fire, and exited it safely, police said. The fire was extinguished by 8:30 a.m.

The fire is still under investigation, though it does not appear to be suspicious, according to police.

The Hillsborough Township Police, Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Companies 1, 2 and 3, Franklin Fire Department, Manville Fire Department, Finderne Fire Department, Hillsborough Rescue Squad, Social Services, OEM, Fire Safety and Building Department and the Somerville Rescue Squad responded to the fire.
